My Goal Buddy ("we", "our", or "us"), developed by Prateek Bansal, is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our app.

Information We Collect: We collect information you provide directly, including your name and email address (via sign-in), goal titles and descriptions, check-in records, group membership details, and photos you voluntarily upload as proof of goal completion.

How We Use Your Information: Your data is used solely to provide and improve the app experience — enabling goal tracking, group accountability, leaderboards, and chat. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Data Retention: Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time from the Profile page.

Third-Party Services: We use secure cloud infrastructure to store and process data. These providers are contractually bound to protect your data and cannot use it for their own purposes.

Personal Data: Name, email address (used for authentication and identification within groups).

Usage Data: Goals, check-ins, group memberships, chat messages, and activity timestamps.

Photos: Images you upload as proof of goal completion. These are stored securely and visible to members of your group.

Device Data: We do not collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, or location data.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time.

To delete your account and all associated data, go to Profile → Delete Account. This will permanently remove all your goals, check-ins, group memberships, and account information.

We will respond to all data access and deletion requests within 30 days, as required by applicable law (including GDPR and CCPA).

By downloading or using My Goal Buddy, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

You must be at least 13 years old to use this app. If you are under 18, you must have parental consent.

You agree to use the app lawfully and not to upload harmful, offensive, or illegal content.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

The app is provided 'as-is' without warranties of any kind. We strive for reliability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

My Goal Buddy is not directed to children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately.

My Goal Buddy uses push notifications to keep you engaged with your accountability goals and group activity.

What we notify you about: Goal reminders, streak warnings, friend nudges, group chat messages, cheers and reactions on your check-ins, and alerts when you're the last person yet to check in.

Push notifications are delivered through the app's native platform infrastructure (Apple Push Notification service on iOS, Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android). Your device's push token is used solely to route notifications to you and is not used for advertising.

You can enable or disable push notifications, and control which types you receive, from the Profile page → Push Notifications settings.

You can also revoke notification permissions at any time in your device's system settings. This will stop all push notifications from the app.

The app requests access to your camera and photo library solely for the purpose of uploading proof photos for goal check-ins.

Camera access is only used when you explicitly tap the camera button within the app.

Photos are uploaded to secure cloud storage and are only visible to members of your accountability group.

You can deny camera access at any time in your device settings. This will only affect the ability to add proof photos — all other app functionality remains available.

All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted using industry-standard TLS encryption.

Data is stored in secure cloud infrastructure with access controls and regular security audits.

In the event of a security breach that affects your data, we will notify you promptly as required by applicable law.

My Goal Buddy uses local device storage (not tracking cookies) for session management and user preferences such as dark mode settings.

We do not use advertising cookies or track you across external websites.

No third-party analytics or advertising SDKs are embedded in this app.

We may update this Privacy Policy and Terms of Service from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with an updated 'Last Updated' date at the top of this page.

Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

For material changes, we will notify users via the app or by email.

You can delete your account and all associated data directly within the My Goal Buddy app by following these steps:

1. Open the My Goal Buddy app on your device.

2. Tap the Profile tab (bottom right).

3. Scroll down and tap 'Delete Account'.

4. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

Upon deletion, the following data is permanently removed: your user profile, all goals you created, all check-in records, group memberships, chat messages sent by you, and any uploaded proof photos.

Data that may be retained temporarily: Group activity logs may retain anonymized records for up to 30 days for technical reasons before being fully purged. No personally identifiable information is retained after this period.

Account deletion is irreversible. Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered.
